BestPrac.Org develops and promotes Best Practice Principles for various categories of Internet Industry participants, to promote and encourage responsible network security and ethical practices throughout the internet industry, for the prevention and eradication of email spam:

Current categories are:

Legislation is not the sole answer to the worldwide spam plague. Accordingly, BestPrac.Org has developed Best Practice Principles as a means for industry participants to raise the quality, both in terms of ethical standards and email server and other network security technologies, within the internet industry of measures for the prevention of email spam primarily at source, and secondarily the elimination of email spam en route, yet without stifling the legitimate communications of honest businesses and individuals. This list is a "work-in-progress" and will evolve over time, with input from interested parties

We are calling for comments on the Principles in each of the above categories, and suggestions for additional proposals (and even additional categories), to further develop this comprehensive set of Best Practice Standards to stop spam globally.
